At the end of January Alice flew over to the South of Spain to deliver a whole-school oracy training day at Sunny View School, near Malaga. Sunny View is a British-curriculum school, teaching students right the way from age 3 – 18.
The session discussed what oracy strategies and practices staff are already using, current oracy research, best practice from some UK-based schools, and ways and ways to embed debating within lessons.
The staff were really enthusiastic about some of the new strategies and excited about ways they can develop and grow their existing debating club. We look forward to hearing more about the growth of debating at Sunny View soon.
