Up For Debate Manchester Heat

The fourth and final heat of the competition took place at Manchester Grammar School today.

Teams debated the two prepared topics before debating banning child beauty pageants in the impromptu round.

The Elizabethan Academy  and Bishops’ Blue Coat High School took part in the regional final, debating whether or not politicians should be paid the average wage of their country. The Elizabethan Academy were crowned regional champions, winning a place in the national final.

We have had four fantastic regional heats, with lots of really superb debates. A huge thank you to all the students, teachers and judges whose hard work has made this such a special competition.

Now it is time to start preparing for the national final!
